Artist Statement
I create acrylic resin wall art drawn to bold color, luminous surfaces, and processes that allow me to pour, swirl, and coax resin into something unexpected and magical. The expansive skies and landscapes of New Mexico, along with the turquoise waters of the Gulf Coast, often inspire my color palettes. I also work with fused glass, where my inner science nerd comes alive through the chemistry, reactions, and small surprises that emerge from the kiln. Guided by curiosity, playfulness, and precision, I create work that celebrates joy, discovery, and the transformation of materials.
Biography
Alison Thomas is an abstract resin artist known for her vibrant, flowing color palettes and luminous glass-like surfaces. By layering resin with pigments, she creates organic compositions that suggest depth, movement, and space. Her mixed-media work often incorporates repurposed glass, as well as natural elements such as crystals and stones, bringing texture and a sense of discovery to each piece. In addition to creating her own artwork, Alison shares her process through resin art classes.

Raised in an Air Force family, Alison eventually settled with her family in the Florida Panhandle. Before moving to New Mexico in 2007, she worked as an engineer for the Department of Energy in Washington, D.C. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida and a Master of Science in Technical Management from Johns Hopkins University. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Metaphysics.
