Artist Statement
Functionality is a cornerstone of my artistic philosophy. I am dedicated to creating beautiful and highly useful art, particularly in my mugs and functional ware, ensuring they are comfortable to use. I primarily use mid-range stoneware and porcelain for their strength and practicality, with all my pieces being dishwasher and microwave safe. In addition to functional pottery, I create textured ‘tile quilts’ that can be displayed on walls and a variety of porcelain jewelry. It brings me great joy to hear from my customers that they happily use my pottery every day.

In addition to making pottery, Laura teaches ESL full-time at Central New Mexico Community College. She has been a member of Sandia Heights Artists for six years, where she has enjoyed collaborating with a talented community of artists.
