Biography
Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, Tatiana Klimov (Komaldinova) discovered her artistic home in New Mexico, where she has lived since 1995 and painted since 2018. Although her academic background is in metallurgy, the luminous landscapes, expansive skies, and extraordinary wildlife of the Southwest ultimately shaped her life's work.
A former owner of ART MOZAIK Gallery on Santa Fe's historic Canyon Road, Tatiana has developed a distinctive visual language rooted in bold color, expressive brushwork, and an emotional connection to the natural world. Her paintings move beyond representation, inviting viewers into a world where wildlife and landscape become symbols of resilience, joy, and quiet wonder. Whether depicting a raven, a longhorn, or the brilliant light of a New Mexico sunset, her work reflects both the spirit of the land and the emotional experience of living within it.
Recognized throughout the Southwest for her unmistakable use of color, Tatiana has received numerous awards from the New Mexico Art League, Rio Grande Art Association, Los Alamos Arts Council, and Taos Arts Council. She has exhibited widely in New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas, with work accepted into national and international juried exhibitions. She is also a six-time consecutive winner of the Taos Is Art Lamp Pole Banner Competition, an honor that reflects both artistic excellence and enduring public appreciation.
Her paintings have been featured in Trend Magazine, Prime Time New Mexico, NM Field Guide, Gallery Guide, Inside Santa Fe Magazine, Artist Portfolio Magazine, Outsider Art Magazine, and Enchanted Outpost Magazine. Today, her work is represented in private collections throughout the United States and abroad.
From her studio in Placitas, New Mexico, Tatiana continues to paint and teach, offering workshops in oil and acrylic painting that encourage artists to discover their own creative voice through fearless color and intuitive expression.
