November Note from the Director
Note from the Director
by Patricia Cream
Fall is a wonderful time of the year, and I am excited to announce that we are honored to have The Dramatic and Fanciful Art of Jeff Warren in our gallery salon. He will have a solo show from November 3–25th with the Artist Reception on November 6th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The gallery will feature three artists in November: Marcella Boushelle, Jasper Brodie, and me. Marcella is an accomplished mixed media artist working in the abstract and impressionistic style for over 35 years. Jasper is new to the gallery and works in oil. She is enjoying exploring various subject matter from animals to florals. I have been doing a study of perspective in oils during the COVID-19 months. My show will feature a variety of things that took place during this time, from the death of John Lewis to drive-in movies being the new mode of watching a film.
The gallery will be decorated for the holidays, starting on Wednesday, November 18th. Many of our artists have created unique gifts, and we will use these items to decorate the trees and pedestals throughout the gallery. Our friends, family, and the local art community look forward to this opportunity to purchase fabulous art for gifts. We also hold the Annual Holiday Bazaar in the gallery salon during December, and it is the perfect place to buy gifts for the holidays. We have several new artists exhibiting this year. Please come out to see the photography of Brian Spencer, and acrylic/resin by Mark Serafin. Other artists this year include Carolyn Berry, encaustic; Kathy Arneberg, alcohol ink; Joe Koetter, wood; Alison Thomas, glass; and Leah Mitchell, mosaic ceramic and glass tile.
The Gallery ABQ has completed the New Mexico Safe Certification. We are following the New Mexico guidelines and training for the implementation of COVID Safe Practices. Mandatory masks and social distancing is required. Please come out and support our artists at the upcoming Artist Receptions and Holiday Bazaar event.
